Why is the desktop app free?
We believe privacy-first email should be accessible to everyone. The desktop app with local AI (Ollama) is completely free and open-source. You only pay if you want the convenience of cloud-based AI or mobile access.
What's the difference between local and cloud AI?
Local AI (Ollama): Runs on your computer. Completely private, unlimited usage, but requires a GPU. Free forever.

Cloud AI: Runs on our servers using GPT-4/Claude. No hardware required, faster for embeddings, but data must be sent to the cloud (with PII redaction). Paid feature.
Is my email data private?
Free tier: 100% private. All data stays on your device.

Paid tiers: Only AI summaries/queries are sent to cloud, never full emails. We redact PII (emails, phones, etc.) before upload. You can view exactly what's sent in the privacy dashboard.
Can I switch between local and cloud AI?
Yes! You can toggle between local Ollama and cloud AI anytime in Settings. Your data stays where you choose.
When will paid tiers launch?
We're targeting Q2 2026 for PLUS/PRO launch. The free desktop app is available now. Download here.
Is there a free trial for paid tiers?

Can I use my own OpenAI API key instead?
Yes! The free tier supports BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) for OpenAI and other compatible providers. You'll pay OpenAI directly and avoid our cloud service entirely.
What about iOS?
Android comes first (Q3-Q4 2026). iOS will follow if there's demand. Desktop apps (Linux/macOS/Windows) work great in the meantime!
